What are Carbonless forms ?
Carbonless forms are NCR, also referred to as carbonless copy paper (CCP), or non-carbon copy paper. Carbonless forms required paper to printed with a offset press with oil based inks, water and printing plates to create an image (could be text or graphic) so a person doesn’t have to rewrite or design a form each time he / she has to record information off their client. Once the paper is printed it’s set on the shelf to dry. Later it’s glued in sets, so a 2 part form is only going to have two pages and a 5 part form should have 5 pages. Once the gluing process is finished the forms is crash numbered if sequence numbering is needed. Once numbering is finished the sets are counted and booked. Most common booking setup’s are 25 sets into a book, 30 sets into a book and 50 sets into a book.
How do Carbonless forms work?
Let’s take 2 part form as an example.
The top sheet being white is presented on with a pen and must be press hard so Micro-Encapsulated dye coating that’s at the rear of the white sheet is transferred on Reactive Clay layer that is coated at the top of the 2nd page. This procedure is repeated once more over a three part carbon-less form and repeated twice more four part carbon-less form.
